New York: Work on The Virgin Hotel New York Should Begin Soon

We are counting down the days until we can stay at the Virgin Hotel Chicago, (64 days to go!) but in the meantime, work is starting on the next big Virgin Hotel–Virgin New York.

The Real Deal Blog reports that developer, The LAM Group, filed permits yesterday for the Virgin Hotel in the hot-to-trot NoMad neighborhood at 1225 Broadway between 29th and 30th streets. That lot will be demolished and a 38-story hotel with 447 hotel rooms will be built with duplexes on the 34th and 35th floors.

Downstairs will have 100,000-sq.ft. of retail space. Upstairs it looks like there will be a rooftop lounge and possibly a pool. The architect for the project is

After Almost 50 Years A New Hotel May Soon Be Saying ‘Greetings From Asbury Park’

This former Salvation Army building is getting an extreme makeover, where a simple brick box gets a second life with new glass-walled areas on the first floor and a hot rooftop bar for you to enjoy your ‘spirits in the night’

The famous, occasionally infamous, Jersey Shore got a shot of adrenaline with the announcement of the first new hotel in almost 50 years, opening in 2016 in iconic Asbury Park. It’s exciting news and suggests that Asbury Park may be returning to its heyday as a popular resort destination on the Shore.

West Hollywood: The Sunset Strip May Soon Be Known as Los Angeles’ Hotel Strip

We first heard of the grand hotel aspirations for Los Angeles’ iconic Sunset Boulevard way back in 2010 when the news came out that the House of Blues would be replaced by a crazy hotel condo complex. Two years later, we learned an Edition Hotel was opening up at Sunset and Doheny. And now, it looks like both of these projects are coming to fruition, along with a few others.

Bloomberg News reports that the House of Blues will close down in the near future and make way for a 149-room hotel which will open sometime in 2017. The property will also have residences attached.

But the House of Blues is not the only spot
